February now heralds spring's arrival

A single crocus, or daffodil, has appeared in our front yard.

For years, dreary winter days made February seem to last forever, despite the month's brevity.

With the arrival of climate change, the transition to spring comes early.

We've experienced mostly mild and sunny days, with brief spells of cold and rain. Birds sing their love songs, and walkers fill the streets.

The changing climate no doubt will bring extreme weather in the future. For now, we're intoxicated by blue skies and sunshine.
